iThenticate: Plagiarism Detection Software

Our iThenticate subscription authorizes a limited number of submissions. Please be judicious and limit your use of iThenticate to one submission for each of the following projects:

• Qualifying exams
• Manuscripts for publication
• Theses
• Grant proposals

Each submission will generate a "Similarity Report" which highlights text that matches previously-published materials. Use this report as a guideline.

It is up to you to determine whether or not the similarity constitutes plagiarism and to make any necessary revisions to your manuscript.

1. One document submission = 25,000 words. A document consisting of 25,0001+ words will count as two submissions. If possible remove title page and reference lists before uploading your manuscript.
2. Use filters to fine tune reports. You can filter out:
   1. Specific phrases
   2. Bibliographies and reference lists
   3. Text in quotations
3. Wait until you've finished writing and upload your final draft. Each time you revise a paper and resubmit, it will count as an additional new submission.

1. Access to iThenticate is available to registered library users. Please make sure your library registration up to date.
2. Fill out the Request an Account form.
3. Look out from an email message from noreply@ithenticate.com. This message will contain instructions for logging in, including your temporary password.
4. Your Einstein email address will be your login.
